Privacy Policy

True Course Collective LLC (“True Course,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the True Course platform, including the web application available at truecourse.app and associated mobile applications (collectively, the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information about users of the Platform.

True Course is built with privacy as a foundational principle. We collect only what we need to provide the service, we do not sell user data, and we make privacy-protective defaults the rule rather than the exception.

By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored as a cryptographic hash). You may optionally provide a display name and training profile information (certificate level, checkride date, experience).

Training activity. We collect data about your use of the Platform, including scenario sessions, quiz results, Readiness Score progress, and response patterns. This data is used to power your training analytics and personalize your experience.

Payment information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. True Course does not store full credit card numbers or payment credentials. We receive limited billing information from Stripe (e.g., last four digits, card type, billing period) as needed to manage your subscription.

Usage data. We collect standard log data including IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and session duration. This data is used for security, debugging, and service improvement.

Voice data. If you use voice input features (Pro plan), your audio is transcribed to text. We do not retain raw audio recordings beyond the transcription process.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the Platform and its features
• Compute and display your Readiness Score and training analytics
• Process subscription payments and manage your account
• Send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, account notices)
• Improve the Platform through aggregate usage analysis
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
• Respond to your support requests and communications

We do not use your training data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the Platform and improving your training experience.

We do not sell your data. True Course does not sell, rent, or trade user data to third parties for any purpose.

Service providers. We share data with a limited set of service providers who help us operate the Platform — including hosting infrastructure, payment processing (Stripe), and analytics tooling. These providers are contractually bound to use data only to provide services to us and not for their own purposes.

Legal requirements. We may disclose data when required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of True Course, its users, or the public.

Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users of any material change in data handling practices.

True Course offers instructor and school analytics features that provide visibility into student training patterns. This section describes how those features interact with individual user privacy.

Anonymous by default. Individual users train anonymously unless they explicitly enroll in an institutional program or consent to identified tracking. Anonymous users cannot be linked to specific individuals by instructors or schools.

Instructor access. When a student enrolls in an instructor's program, the instructor gains access to aggregated analytics about that student's training patterns. Detailed session transcripts are not available to instructors by default. Granular access requires explicit consent configuration by both parties.

School-tier access. Flight schools that enroll students gain cohort-level analytics and, with appropriate configuration, individual student analytics. Schools are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate consent from enrolled students before enabling identified tracking.

True Course does not design its analytics features for surveillance. They are designed for coaching. If you believe your privacy has been violated in the context of instructor or school access, contact us at support@truecourse.app.

We retain your account data and training history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or to prevent fraud.

Aggregated, de-identified analytics data may be retained indefinitely for Platform improvement purposes. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage of sensitive fields, and access controls limiting which employees can access user data.

No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support@truecourse.app immediately.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including: access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion of your data, restriction of processing, and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@truecourse.app.

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Account deletion removes your personal data from our active systems within 30 days.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
